Many men do not know anything about men’s fashion. They are comfortable with grabbing the first shirt they see in their closet. Recently, however, more men are becoming conscious of how they look. Most of them ask their female friends or check magazines for fashion advice. They even search the internet on how to look attractive and trendy. 

The basics of men’s fashion starts with choosing the right material. The fabrics used say a lot about the quality of the clothing. Good fabrics allow the clothing to withstand wear and tear. Men should not wear clothing and use accessories that wear out quickly. This method is also not very cost effective since you will be purchasing more clothes sooner than later. They also make for an unkempt and out of style look. They should also choose simple accessories. 

The next point men need to remember is that details in the apparel and accessory can create an impact to the whole look. So consider those details before mixing and matching. They should also learn how to color-coordinate. 

Most men usually go for darker colors, but light and pastel shades are perfect during summer and spring seasons. They should consider their complexion when choosing clothes. 

The right color of clothes can lighten up the complexion and brightens the facial tone, bringing more attention to the face. 

Patterns are another challenge in men’s fashion. Many guys don’t really know how to play with patterns that is why they usually prefer solid colors and no prints. The savvy ones, however, know how to play with patterns without looking like their mothers’ tablecloths. Mixing and matching patterns in one look may look terrible. 

While the wearer may feel it’s trendy, the rest will see him as a fashion disaster. Men can go for two or more pattern-coordinations without overdoing it. It is fundamental to keep the flow of patterns as natural as possible and create a chic look with the combination. 

They should know the types of patterns and their scale before choosing how to put them their clothes together. Check out fashion magazines or consult with a fashion stylist to learn the proper use of patterns, and the best way to mix and match clothing.

Men may wear boat shoes and a crisp white shirt with it for the ideal evening barbeque or casual drinks outfit. Not only does it move denim shorts from the beach to the bar, it creates an instant summer style. 

A pair of jeans is a wardrobe fashion favorite. They’re perfect for the smart casual look. Wearing them with a dress shirt and blazer instantly transforms the jeans from casual to classy. Wear the right footwear when dressing up with denim. 

Sandals are perfect with jeans for afternoons but not appropriate when going for a smart look in the evening. A pair of dapper leather shoes completes the outfit.

Men’s Fashion – Black Is Back

Horace Greeley is often incorrectly credited with a famous quote, “Go west, young man!” This quote actually came from John B. L. Soule in 1851. What Horace had over Soule was media power. In those times it was the power of the printing press to publish newspapers. In the modern age of the Internet, it seems almost unbelievable that in times past for anything to be important in mass culture, especially if it was important enough to start new trends, it had to be printed in a newspaper. 

Nowadays it is so easy to put your written opinion out in public where anyone can see it and of course deride it or upstage it. But at least no one can stop you from putting it there. We would encourage you to go back to the times of “yesteryear” when things were more simple and everything was either black or white. When given a choice between black or white, we choose black. We smile a devious smirk when we say that, because black is the new ever-expanding frontier. White is so plain and gets dirty far too easily. As the modern day Horace Greeley or John Soule we would say “Go black, young man!”. What could we possibly mean by that? Well, first we must define what we mean by black. Is black a color or is it a race of people? Is black the combination of all colors, or the absence of color, or the absence of light, or the opposite of white, or the color of many formal “black” tie events. 

Black is all those things and more. What the heck is black? Not so easy to answer is it? That is why this subject is so intriguing. Classic black is always part of a decent man’s attire. A man can be sharply dressed and as part of the outfit he chooses to represent himself, he includes some well-polished black shoes to go with his black suit. What a nice combination, black on black. 


Superb! Black is just as available for formal events as it is acceptable in church or as street wear. There is the classic “black” tie event that is most formal. When you go to a funeral, you can wear black and be sure to fit right in. And if you want to go to a Goth rock concert, then black is the only color choice allowed.

If you want to be a tough guy, then wear a black leather motorcycle jacket, and if you want to rave until the sun comes up, put on some black eyeliner so you look like you haven’t slept for days.There is virtually no place or event where the color (or absence of color) black is not welcome. You can be a priest, a punk rocker, a preppie escorting a lady at the formal debutante ball, in church or in a coal mine – if you are dressed in black you will fit right in. Kudos to the darker side. Now go out and get some black.

Sears is a great place to shop at. They have so many different amazing products here, including clothing, appliances, shoes, tools, automotive and tires, electronics, exercise equipment, lawn and garden, outdoor living and patio, jewelry, fitness, sports and so much more.

Football season in high schools in just around the corner, and some teams are already holding “Captain’s Practices” for those that want to get an early start, since a lot of state high school leagues don’t allow contact between coaches and players in the off-season.

Pro football teams are already having their training camps and I watched my first pre-season game already! Football season is my favorite, and I love being able to watch games on Sundays and Monday nights.

Scheels is a sporting goods store and they have a ton of gear for football. I love that they have everything from jerseys of your favorite pro athletes to gear to play yourself and everything in between. This is a fun sport!

Target is a store that I visit quite frequently (in fact I went there TWICE yesterday). They have so many things that I can make it my one-stop shop for groceries, household supplies, furniture, home decor, prescriptions, beauty products (make-up, hair care, skin care, fragrance, etc), clothing, shoes, electronics, pet supplies, accessories, jewelry, and so much more. This store honestly seems endless and I love every bit of it!

I love this because you can either use the deal yourself, or start stocking up on Christmas gifts (I know, I know…it’s only July, right?). When I first shopped around at Ulta, I thought that it was primarily a store for women’s beauty products, hair products, nail products, and more.

I love Ulta because of their great selection, but I also love their awesome prices. They are almost always having a fantastic sale going on and I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price for anything here. If you’re a guy that’s considered “big and tall”, you know just how hard it can be to find clothes that fit properly! Most places carry up to 2X or 3X, but those don’t typically go long enough for tall guys, they just get wider and wider.

JCPenney carries the “Big and Tall” collection for men, which is great! They carry pants, shirts, polos, outerwear, workout clothes, shoes, sportcoats and suits, shorts, swimwear and plenty of other things, all in special sizes for men.

I feel like summer is quickly coming to an end and fall is fast approaching. This is easily my favorite season of the entire year. I love being able to put on a big sweater, leggings and my favorite pair of boots and cozy up! I love Sundays with the Crock-Pot on while watching football, pumpkin carving, and so much more.

FLEET FARM STORE COMING TO MY TOWN AND I CAN’T WAIT!

Fleet Farm is one of my husband’s favorite stores. When he goes shopping to his “guy stores”, I generally choose not to tag along. When he goes to Fleet Farm, however, I’m in the car before he can even grab his wallet!

I love going to Fleet Farm. They have a great selection of lawn and garden, fishing, hunting, clothing and footwear, pet supplies, farm, food, home improvement, sporting goods, tools, toys and so much more. They have some great deals, so you don’t have to worry about going over your budget (unless of course you buy a lot!).

We used to have to drive 45 minutes to get to our nearest Fleet Farm. I found out the other day that they are building one just 10 minutes away from our house! I’m super excited!
